BlackBar™ Lightweight Fibreglass Rebar (FRP / GFRP) is a composite of fibreglass roving and resin, that’s impervious to corrosion, and is a proven successful alternative that can be utilized for structures requiring additional strengthening and long service life. Ideal for structures exposed to deicing salts, seawater, or other corrosive agents; weight- or thermally-sensitive projects; projects that require electromagnetic neutrality.

Most especially in maritime environments i.e. sea wall defences, transport infrastructure roads and bridges it will replace the necessity to utilise epoxy coated or galvanised rebar or stainless steel which is even more expensive than basalt rebar.

Fibreglass rebar is easily cut to length with regular tools. Fibreglass rebar does not conduct electricity or induce fields when exposed to RF energy, great for MRI or data buildings. Fibreglass rebar is perfect for Marine environments and Chemical plants where corrosion is a continuous concern.

Fibreglass Rebar is available in 4-20mm diameters.
