Basalt FRP Rebar is an outstanding product for concrete reinforcement. It weighs 4 times less than steel rebar and its tensile strength is 3 times higher. Basalt FRP rebars are manufactured from basalt fibres by pultrusion technology. The surface is profiled and sanded. This kind of surface treatment results in a better adhesion in concrete. Basalt FRP rebar has the same thermal coefficient of expansion as concrete.

Basalt does not rust or absorb water, so the depth of concrete cover can be reduced, allowing for thinner sections and more flexibility of design.  Nonferrous reinforcement Basalt FRP rebar is easily cut to length with regular tools. Basalt FRP rebar does not conduct electricity or induce fields when exposed to RF energy, great for MRI or data buildings. Basalt FRP rebar is perfect for Marine environments and Chemical plants where corrosion is a continuous concern.

Basalt fibres for concrete mix

Basalt fibre, is made by chopping continuous basalt fibre into short lengths. Basalt fibre used as reinforcing agent for concrete, plaster and plastics, providing three-dimensional strengthening. Basalt fibre provides high adhesion to concrete without deterioration of the reinforcing properties over time. It is a corrosion resistant material that does not get inflamed even exposed to open fire. Basalt Chopped Fibres can be mixed directly into polymers and concrete to increase tensile strength and reduce cracking and shrinkage.

Basalt Dowel Bar

Dowel Bars are used as a load transfer device between joints in concrete slabs. They provide a mechanical connection between slabs but allow for horizontal contraction and expansion of the slab itself. This results in lower deflections at the joints and reduced slab stresses. Joint failure is often the result of corrosion of the steel dowel bar.

Black Bar Basalt Dowels will not rust or corrode, meet shear capacity requirements and may reduce fatigue stresses in the surrounding concrete, due to the lower stiffness of the Basalt Dowels. These bars are also electromagnetically transparent and are frequently used in high-speed toll collection areas near inductance sensors.

 

Basalt Geo-Grid Mesh

Basalt geogrid mesh is made of basalt roving with epoxy impregnation. It is an effective and economically advantageous substitute to a traditional steel mesh due to its strength, low thermal conductivity and long-term retention of its qualities in aggressive environment, loads and temperature changes. Nonferrous reinforcement mesh can also be used in construction of industrial and civil buildings in seismic regions.

Used for reinforcing of asphalt, concrete, pavements, precast products. The strength of basalt mesh is as good as metal reinforcement, however it is lighter, thereby simplifying transportation and handling in construction.
